Jeremiah Johnke is the WTE’s assistant sports editor and has been with the paper since May 2003. His primary responsibilities currently include covering Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East high schools, as well as Laramie County Community College and the University of Wyoming. His first three years with the WTE were spent focusing on Burns, Pine Bluffs and Wheatland high schools with the occasional LCCC and UW event sprinkled in. Johnke’s favorite memories since hiring on at the WTE include covering the 2005 Class 5A football championship between East and Central and the UW women’s basketball team’s run to the WNIT championship in 2007.
Johnke, 30, graduated from the University of Wyoming and participated in football and basketball at Wheatland High School. He also has played club lacrosse, junior tennis, enjoys playing golf, video games, reading, watching sports of all kinds (though he is partial to college baseball, football and lacrosse) and spending time with his wife, Liz, and dogs, Lenny and Kip. |

Ian St. Clair has been a sportswriter at the WTE for a little over two years. He covers the University of Wyoming women’s basketball team as well as prep and anything else that needs covered. He is also responsible for a weekly community sports story from across the city or the county.Some of Ian’s most memorable memories at the WTE include the Cowgirls’ WNIT championship game against Wisconsin and their march to that game, and a dachsund derby in Wheatland. A little bizarre? Yes. But it was a lot of fun. Prior to coming to the WTE, he covered the Denver Broncos for 2 years at The Fort Collins Coloradoan.
Ian, 27, graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2005. In high school, he participated in soccer and basketball. He loves sports and having anything to do with sports. His favorites are baseball, football and mixed martial arts. He loves history with an emphasis on the Civil War, World War II and Vietnam War. He lives an active, healthy life and loves to spend time with his girlfriend. |
