Jerret Raffety

profile pic Jerret Raffety first came to Wyoming in June of 2007 to accept a position as a staff photographer with the Rawlins Daily Times in Rawlins, Wyo. After spending two years learning community journalism in a town where it’s valued most, he accepted a position as a staff photographer with the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in July of 2009.

Raffety studied journalism and photography at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities for his undergraduate degree. While taking college courses, he was a contributor to various local publications such as the Southwest Journal, Skyway News and the Pulse of the Twin Cities while holding staff positions with the Minnesota Daily and The Wake Magazine.

Raffety is a native of Milwaukee, Wis. and enjoys exploring the West and all of its wonders as much as possible.

Michael Smith

Photographer Michael Smith started making images while attending Green River High School in 1986. In 1987 he won the WHSAA photo of the year along with multiple other awards in sports, feature and special effects categories. After graduation from GRHS in 1987 he attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in pursuit of a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. In 1991 and 1992 Michael won honors at the Presidents Choice Student Art Exhibit in painting, sculpture and photography. He studied under master photographers Craig Stevens and Lucien Clerge along with attendance to many workshops on printing and image making. After four years in Savannah he transferred to the University of Arizona to finish up his BFA. While at Arizona, Michael worked with fine art photographer Harold Jones and volunteered at the Center for Creative Photography.

my name is aaron ontiveroz and i joined the tribune eagle photo staff in the spring of 2008. before that, i worked at the powell tribune and laramie boomerang, while finishing my degree in journalism at the northwest college in powell and the university of wyoming in laramie. my interest in photojournalism is probably inherent — my old man, milton ontiveroz jr., used to shoot professionally, but now he the only things he shoots are empty beer cans.
