This is the second year for the event, which was started in memory of Don Maddison, a longtime member of the fire district and a district board member who died in 2007 after a lengthy illness.

Maddison lived the last few years of his life dependant on blood from donors, and thanks to the community’s residents, he was always able to get it. To “pay it forward,” his family and the fire district created this community event.
