In ToDo for Thursday March 11: “Rabbit Hole”

From left, Rabbit Hole assistant director Jean Phelan and director Troy Rumpf laugh as they discuss wardrobe considerations on Tuesday evening during a rehearsal for the play by David Lindsay-Abaire. The play shows at the Mary Godfrey Playhouse on March 12-14 and 19-21. Jerret Raffety/staff

The play “Rabbit Hole” has brought a teacher and pupil together again 30 years after their first show took place. Troy Rumpf is directing with Jean Phelan assisting. But three decades ago, it was Phelan who directed a young sixth-grader in his breakout role of that lovable blockhead Charlie Brown in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” Now the two are mounting a production of David Lindsay-Abaire’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play that revolves on the emotional fallout for a couple dealing with the death of their child. The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players show opens Friday at the Mary Godfrey Playhouse.
